BLACK
SUN STUDIO
maintains only one standard in jewelry quality: The Best. Piercing
jewelry available in today's market is not all the same, as many
people believe. BLACK SUN provides state of the art implant grade
piercing jewelry or appropriate precious metals for new piercings
to achieve the best possible results with each piercing. Jewelry
quality makes a very big difference!
Real
Piercing Jewelry involves strict design standards using
materials approved and tested for use in the human body.
These
metals include ASTM standardized implant grade*
steel, titanium, and niobium as well as appropriate gold alloys
and platinum. Piercing jewelry is not regulated like medical devices
or other products used in your body. This means that most piercing
jewelry on the market today is not tested or regulated in any way.
Black Sun Studio chooses to promote only the safest materials approved
by Health Canada and the FDA*
to achieve the best possible results with any piercing.
(*meets
ASTM specifications
for human implant grade rod and wire.)
Although we have a huge selection of jewelry
in the studio at any given time, custom orders are also encouraged.
We think you should have exactly the jewelry you want, custom fit
to your piercing. The best way to understand our unlimited selection
is to understand the possibilities. It would be impossible to show
you every possible jewelry design since they would number in the
millions! Use your imagination and let us help you create the perfect
piece of jewelry for you, or choose directly from our large inventory.

Jewelry
Sources: To maximize our selection, our quality, and
our ability to create customized designs we deal with numerous reputable
jewelry manufacturers across North America and Europe. Most body
jewelry on the market today is not safe in material or design. Most
jewelers and jewelry companies have no piercing experience and so
do not understand the specifications required to achieve the best
results. We set our own standards and demand the best from our suppliers,
so you are always assured of the highest quality.

 Basic
Standards: While impossible to discuss all design and
material issues here, some very basic and essential standards apply
to 99% of jewelry we sell. While we think of the following points
as simple common sense, many producers and retailers of piercing
jewelry do not adhere to these basics:
| •
INTERNAL
THREADING
in all threaded jewelry (barbells, curved bbls, surface
bars, etc.)
|
•
NO
GLUE
used in making jewelry like gemstone settings
or combined metal items.
|
•
NO
HIGH REACTIVITY
materials like silver or pewter even for
externally worn jewelry components.
|
•
FREE
INSTALLATION and SIZING
by a qualified piercer with any jewelry purchase.
|
•
MADE
FOR DURABILITY, steel threading in softer
material items such as gold or plastics, solid balls
and posts on all gold and most other items, bezel
set gemstones... our jewelry is built to last.
|
| •
PRECIOUS
GEMS, semi-precious stones, and laboratory-created
gems are our specialty. Our gems are never plastic
and never glued! We provide certification on request
for all precious stones and guarantee our settings. |
 |
Our
Guarantee:
We fully guarantee all metal jewelry and gemstone settings against
any defect in construction and material*.
While other more fragile materials such as acrylic and wood cannot
be fully guaranteed - we will always be reasonable in replacing
items which are clearly defective. Defective jewelry must simply
be returned in order to effect the guarantee.
*except items with fragile gemstones such as pearl,
coral, opal, etc...
(complete
list on request.)
